Not ready to borrow? The Kovo Credit Builder reports to all four bureaus at 0% APR with no fees — it pays out nothing, but it builds the history lenders look for.
Kovo Financial, Inc. is not a bank or a lender. The Credit Builder is our own retail installment contract and disburses no funds. Personal loans are provided by third-party partner lenders who set their own rates and make their own decisions, and we may receive a referral fee. How we make money.
These four are the Credit Builder, not the loan side. Start with the Installment Builder and unlock the rest as your on-time payments add up.

What’s coveredThey are different products with different counterparties and different terms. Most people need one of them, some eventually use both, and we would rather you picked deliberately than by accident.
$200 – $5,000 paid into your bank account.
Funded by partner lenders.
Kovo is not the lender. We may earn a referral fee.
$200 – $5,000 of reported credit history.

Kovo is the counterparty. No cash is disbursed.
Turned down for a loan? A few months of reported history often changes the answer — that is the whole reason both products sit on one site. Compare us against other builders before you commit to either.
Kovo is a U.S.-registered Public Benefit Corporation. That charter legally binds us to weigh member outcomes alongside returns — so every product is measured against one question: does this actually move someone's score?
Typical Credit Builder member gain within six months of on-time payments. Self-reported.
A few basics, no credit check on the Credit Builder, instant decision. Available to U.S. residents 18+ in all 50 states. Partner loans are a separate application with the lender.
Anywhere from $200 to $5,000, repaid over 12 to 36 months. Autopay handles every payment for you.
Every payment lands on all four bureaus. Track the score in-app and unlock boosts and rewards as you go.
No guessing where you stand between statements. Every reported payment, score move and unlocked boost — visible the moment it happens.

These are the requirements for the Credit Builder. Partner lenders set their own criteria and decide separately. Tick the boxes that apply to you.
Nothing is submitted and no credit is checked — this is just a quick self-check.
Meeting these requirements does not by itself guarantee approval. All applications are subject to identity verification and Kovo's internal review, which involves no hard credit inquiry at any stage.
Slide to any amount between $200 and $5,000. Term length adjusts automatically, and the number you see is the number you pay.
Credit Builder only — this is not a loan calculator, and no cash is paid out. Illustrative; final terms appear before you sign. No credit inquiry is performed.
The questions we get asked most, answered by the people who actually used it. Score changes are self-reported and vary by individual credit profile.
Four banks turned me down and I had no idea where to start with a thin file. Six months of on-time Credit Builder payments moved me from 574 to 622 — not a miracle, but enough for the auto loan that got me back to work.
Arriving with no U.S. credit history meant every application came back declined. Kovo gave me my first reported tradeline. A year on I have a real file — not a great score yet, but a file, which is the part nobody tells you is the hard bit.
Most report to three. Kovo adds Innovis, so my file reads the same wherever a lender looks.
Started on the Credit Builder because nothing else would take me. Twelve months later I went through Kovo’s lender network for $2,000 and got real offers instead of rejections. Worth saying the loan is from a partner bank, not Kovo — the rate is theirs, so compare it properly.
First movement showed up around day 45, then a few points every cycle. Nothing dramatic. Set autopay and stop checking daily — that is genuinely the whole strategy.
I could not afford to tie up $500 as a deposit, so the fixed payment worked. The catch nobody mentions until you read the terms: you do not get the money back at the end. Fine once you know, annoying if you assumed otherwise.
A selection of verified member submissions from the last 90 days. Kovo does not offer compensation in exchange for reviews, and critical reviews are published unedited alongside positive ones.
We would rather you pick the right credit builder than simply pick ours. Here is the balanced view, including the trade-offs we get asked about most.
TransUnion, Equifax, Experian and Innovis. Most credit builders reach only three, which leaves gaps depending on which report a lender pulls.
Applying can't lower the very score you're trying to raise. Verification is identity- and income-based, with an instant decision.
0% APR, no origination fee, no late fee and no prepayment penalty. The monthly figure you're quoted is the figure you pay.
Anything from $200 to $5,000 across 12 to 36 months, so the commitment can match your budget rather than a fixed package.
Up to $1M ID-fraud insurance, dark-web monitoring and monthly FICO® tracking are included at no additional charge.
As a Public Benefit Corporation, Kovo is legally required to weigh member outcomes alongside shareholder returns.
This is the big one. Savings-linked builders like Self return your payments at the end of the term; Kovo does not. Your $240–$5,000 funds the service, not a savings pot.
A 12–36 month retail installment contract. Closing it early still leaves a shortened tradeline on your file, which isn't ideal for credit age.
There's no late fee, but a missed payment is reported to all four bureaus — the same reach that helps you can work against you.
The $500 limit is usable only within Kovo. It helps your credit mix and utilisation, but it is not a general-use card you can spend anywhere.
They arrive as gift cards and require activating a qualifying third-party partner offer, so the headline $1,225 is a ceiling, not a typical outcome.
